Rev Jenny Adams
Duffus IV30 5QP
|Hello from Rev Jenny.
Here's a wee bit to introduce myself.
I grew up in Forres, and left to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. I worked for 10 years as a software engineer in the telecoms industry, initially in Airdrie, then for 5 years from home in Elgin - after we started our family. I was a full-time mum for a time, before feeling called in the very different direction of full-time ministry of Word and Sacrament. And that led me back to university, studying for my BD at Aberdeen University alsongside training placements in Lossiemouth, Fochabers and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I was ordained and inducted into Duffus, Spynie & Hopeman in January 2013.
I am married with 3 children, which keeps life very busy. We all enjoy music, and I sing with the Culbin Singers and play the cello (occasionally). I was Christian Aid Organiser for Elgin, involved in the Church of Scotland Church & Society Council for a number of years, and am an Associate of the Iona Community, and so am interested in the interaction of faith with issues in the world and our communities. And I enjoy the outdoors, with great hopes for exploring the many beautiful parts of the parish on foot and bike, as weather and fitness permit.
I hope we can all learn from each other and grow together in exploring worship and sharing God's love with everyone. And I hope to get to know people over time as we journey as God's people together, serving our communities.
